In a never ending quest for perfection, we've decided to remove the second port for daisy chaining. While it is a fun feature, the potential for sub par performance due to a cheap power supply or excessively long cords is multiplied. For the sake of stability without worry, we've modified existing stock by removing and blocking out the second port as pictured below.
We are selling these at a discount and have a limited supply until our new stock arrives.
Please read our FAQ , instructions and warranty pages before purchase or use.
Introducing the Aurora+ Generation 3, now called Sprout!
Made of a lighter, more pure aluminum that is CNC machined to perfection and hard anodized for protection, Sprout raises the bar for germination yet again. With twice the thermal conductivity of Aurora+ Gen 2, Sprout warms in minutes and is more stable than ever.
An optional spacer for larger seeds and a 2nd tier tray for more room(both sold separately) makes Sprout scalable to your needs.
Two temperature settings:
Green LED - 77-79 F (25-26 C)
Red LED - 80-82 F (27-28 C)
The LED indicator light is at the bottom of the unit. To change the temperature, locate the temperature switch access point at the bottom of the unit. Insert the key, gently press the switch inside and release. The LED light will change color.
For more temperature options, see the Module Pack.
What's in the box:
-Sprout base unit
-2 Cotton pads
-USB-C cable
-Temperature selection key
-1 USB-C safety plug
With USB-C connections becoming more universal, in an effort to reduce prices, USB-C charger blocks are not included. *The quality of the charger block used will directly effect the temperature and stability of the unit. We highly recommend Apple brand 20W USB-C power adapter to provide the proper, consistent voltage.*
Sprout uses 1.2 amps 6 watts max at start up, 1 watt during temperature maintenance.
Sprout is approximately 7cm x7cm x2.25cm. The pod has a diameter of 6cm with a depth(including the recessed lid) of 0.25"/0.635cm.
*Root Nerds is not liable for any failed seed germination* There are many factors that can influence the outcome. Proper preparation, seed storage and sanitation habits are some of the keys to success. It is your responsibility to select the proper temperature, add the correct amount of solution to keep your seeds hydrated while using the proper method based on the type of seed you are germinating. Excessive removal of the lid can lead to temperature decrease and/or accelerated evaporation of your germination solution.
